no bc WONYOUNG casually added 'voice actress' to the resume like it's nothing. IVE's Jang Wonyoung has joined the voice cast of the Korean animated film Agami, hitting theaters September 9 — and mother is once again mothering across an entirely new medium.
the lineup is genuinely insane for an animation?? we're talking Jung Hae In as the lead Gon, plus Kang Ha Neul, Lee Chung Ah, Yoo Jae Myung and musical queen Kim Sun Young — with Wonyoung sliding right in like she belongs there (she does). it's giving prestige film, not Saturday-morning cartoon.
Agami is directed by Ahn Jae Hoon and based on Koo Byung Mo's novel, following Gon — a boy who grows GILLS in a world where they appear on anyone thrown into deep water. surreal, a little haunting, extremely 'we are going to sob in a theater over a fish boy.' the first poster is already serving delicate hand-drawn visuals and we are OBSESSED.
we don't know how big Wonyoung's role is yet, but a global it-girl lending her voice to an arthouse animation is exactly the range we scream about. September 9, mark it, set a reminder. we are so back. 🐟
