What should I do?" — the pre-chorus captures the helpless paralysis of a first crush, the song's whole emotional register. "Gee" (released January 5, 2009) held #1 on KBS's Music Bank for nine straight weeks, a record that stood until Psy's "Gangnam Style" in 2012, and Rolling Stone later placed it at #170 on "The 250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century."
