"Boom shakalaka" is a nonsense hype exclamation used to punctuate a burst of energy, and here it's the song's signature chant. "Fantastic Baby" was released February 29, 2012 on BIGBANG's EP Alive, written by G-Dragon and T.O.P with Teddy (Wikipedia). NME likened the "boom shakalaka" catchphrase to the sound of 1960s band Sly and the Family Stone, and the music video — a revolution scenario where the members end up crowned as kings — became the first by a K-pop group to pass 200 and 300 million YouTube views (Wikipedia).
