“Watch your step, boy”Watch your step, boy

"Watch your step, boy" is the pre-chorus warning shot — cool, unhurried, the sound of someone who already knows how this ends. The English imperative "watch your step" works both literally (mind where you walk) and idiomatically (be careful, you're in danger), and dropping the casual "boy" on the end turns it into a taunt rather than a plea. It sets up the song's whole predator-and-prey framing before the trap is sprung.
