on MOONLIT FLOOR (KISS ME)Approved & live
"Kiss me on the moonlit floor" is the hook of Lisa's first solo single released under her own label, and it interpolates Sixpence None the Richer's 1997 hit "Kiss Me" — the original line "lead me out on the moonlit floor" is reworked here (Rolling Stone; Wikipedia). The track is credited to Jessie Reyez, Rykeyz and Matt Slocum, the Sixpence member who wrote the original "Kiss Me" (Billboard). Borrowing a recognizable late-'90s melody is what gives the chorus its instant, nostalgic familiarity.
